The site-specific installation Neglected intimacies draws from the biodiversity of the University campus and offers a space for interaction, slowing down and reflection on a personal and collective level. With reference to correlations between body and flora, the work encourages alternative ways of connecting with the landscape towards a future of ecological awareness and an open-ended effort to engage with the living and inanimate beings that surround us. Composed of metal structures and relief ceramics, it draws from fragments of bodies and native plants from the wider geographical area of the University.
Neglected intimacies follows existing parameters and proposes an inviting space of pause and encounter that will potentially evolve into a reference point for the University’s community.
